I'm a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, having worked full time as a counsellor for over 18 years, in the NHS, charitable and private sectors. I'm registered with the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I'm trained by, and am on the leadership team of, BEFT (British Association of Emotionally Focused Therapy). I am a member of ICEEFT (International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy).
If you're hurting and unhappy in your relationship, have hit a crisis, or are going around in repeating patterns of conflict or disconnection, come and see me for some help. We all have the human need to feel loved and securely bonded in our relationships. EFT is a wonderful model with a clear map. It'll help you to understand what's gone wrong, and guide you in how to reach out and find each other again. Celia

I'm really pleased to be providing face to face couples' counselling again; in a quiet location near the Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
The venue has free parking, wheel chair accessibility, and we can be socially distanced with good ventilation.
Zoom sessions will always remain an option.

Session length Usually 50 minutes. If you prefer longer please ask.
Cost: £75 per 50 minute session
Payable by bank transfer when sessions are booked.
The first few sessions The first session is with both of you, getting to know each other, discussing how we will work, and starting to explore what is happening in your relationship.
Second and third sessions are individual sessions, one with each of you, looking at relationships throughout your life, including your current one.
The fourth session is together again. We will begin to explore your relationship more deeply.
On rare occasions we won’t continue working together after the fourth session. This may be for ethical reasons or because couples therapy might not be the right kind of support for you at this time.
Usually after the fourth session I will continue to meet with both of you together for the duration of the therapy.
Number of sessions This depend on how complex your problems are and how receptive you are to therapy. EFT couples counselling generally takes between eight and twenty sessions.
